BEFORE

I always thought I knew the secrets to a healthy diet and maintaining my weight. I poured over books and articles, scrutinized labels, and filled my cart from the health food aisle. I paired all this with regular exercise, and for a while, it seemed to work wonders. That was until I hit my 40s, and suddenly, everything I believed in started to fail me. The diet and exercise routines that once kept me fit were now seemingly contributing to my weight gain. 

The more I tried to intensify my efforts, the worse things seemed to get. It wasn’t just about the weight anymore; my health was on a downward spiral. I was battling hot flashes and insomnia, falling prey to frequent viruses, teetering on the edge of diabetes, and suffering from so much pain and inflammation that my leisurely walks became a thing of the past.

It Was Time to Take Serious Action!

The real wake-up call came when I began visiting patients in nursing homes. Many of them weren’t much older than me, yet here they were, suffering from chronic “lifestyle diseases” similar to the ones I was beginning to face. This realization shook me to the core and propelled me to search for a solution grounded in solid evidence.



AFTER

 I turned my back on the popular dieting advice, the exercise fads, and the all-too-tempting quick fixes. Instead, I dove into the research literature, determined to uncover the fundamental principles of nutrition that could reliably improve health and facilitate sustainable weight loss.

My quest led me to four fundamental guidelines that transformed my approach to eating and my body’s response to it. By adhering to these principles, I not only managed to shed 60 pounds but have kept it off effortlessly. More importantly, I saw a reversal in the symptoms of my health’s decline. I walk with the vigor of my youth, and the confidence I’ve gained in knowing exactly how to nourish my body is immeasurable. Now, I look forward to hiking well into my 80s and 90s, loving every bite of my journey towards a healthier, more vibrant life.
