How close are you to Transformative Eating?

If you’re like I was, and like most of my clients, you stay informed.

You study the literature and keep up to date on the latest info on eating and diet, health and weight.

You are confident that you eat more healthfully than most people.

But maybe you find that your body still holds on to excess fat and weight, and you’re not happy with your health or your energy level.

I have been working to help people figure out how close they are to eating in a way that works to transform this situation, to help you achieve that slender, right-sized body and the great health and vitality that go with eating in a truly healthful way.

That’s why I created this brief quiz– How Close are you to Transformative Eating?  So you could find out for yourself how much your way of eating adheres to a way of eating that actually works for achieving your desired results.

If you haven’t taken this quiz yet, I invite you to find out for yourself how close your eating is to what works.

And, in this post, I’m going to share the 2 aspects of Transformative Eating Quiz respondents adhere to best.

The 2 questions respondents report doing best with both relate to eating in restaurants.

The majority of respondents (74%) indicate they “rarely” or “never” order an alcoholic beverage or dessert when they eat out at a restaurant and half of respondents indicated they “never” order either of these.

I am impressed!  This was an issue for me!

For many years, I always ordered one or the other of these high sugar, low nutrition, so-called “treats.”  I’m sure it was a big factor in my gaining so much weight, resetting my weight set point up, so that my body fought to store excess fat and maintain that higher weight.

The second best item on the quiz is also about restaurants.  A little more than half of respondents indicate they “rarely” or “never” eat the “pre-meal” food that servers bring, such as bread or chips.

Lots of people are doing better with this one, requesting “no bread” or sending these things back before they even get tempted. Way to go!

These are the kind of “differences that makes a difference” for your health and your weight.  It’s because both sugar and flour (wheat, corn, rice, or whatever) tend to drive our insulin levels and our dopamine levels up too high, causing insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome and an addictive response that drives us to crave these no/ low nutrition food like substances.

What do you think of these results?

If you haven’t yet taken the Quiz, you can do that here.  It only takes about 5 minutes. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/slenderquiz

In the next post, I’ll address the aspects respondents report handling the most divergently from what Transformative Eating recommends. And I will explain why these are more important than people may think.
