Empowering you to Live Healthy and Slender for Good
At Slender for Good, we are dedicated to guiding you on a successful journey towards sustainable healthy eating and weight loss. In this integrity statement, we seek to clarify the core values of the Slender for Good community, and what you can expect me to stand for as I help my clients achieve their slender healthy weight, long-term.
- Results-Driven. I am committed to helping my clients achieve highly desirable results for their eating, drinking, and a healthy weight.
- We utilize an eating approach that proves predictably and reliably effective for achieving healthy weight loss that is sustainable.
- We utilize skill-building and mindset shift interventions to optimize success with changing eating habits and sustaining them long-term.
- Scientific Honesty and Respect for our Body. The eating approach we use is grounded in guiding principles proven to be effective for healthy, sustainable weight loss; we believe it works because it involves thoroughly nourishing our body.
- I seek to guide clients to deeper appreciation of how to nourish their bodies well for optimal health and weight.
- In coaching clients about eating and habit change, I seek to make clear which research findings are well-documented and appear central to results, and which findings are more preliminary or less central. I also help my clients explore dietary guidelines which may be more relevant for them as individuals.
- I will also continue to follow research studies into healthy eating and weight loss and will update my clients on updated understandings as I discover them.
- Personal Honesty and Respecting the Change Process. I assume we only ever have partial answers to important questions and will seek to always gain better understanding about what’s true and what works.
- I seek to continue to deepen my understanding of healthy eating and lasting weight loss; and seek to help my clients use the same continual learning approach.
- I recognize that our society is full of unhelpful ideas about eating and drinking, and that, in these times, we have been taught to view non-nutritious “foods” as high value and generally benign, while tending to undervalue highly nutritious foods.
- I seek to accept my own challenges with self-reflection and self-improvement, and to help my clients do the same, especially given that we have lived our lives in an unhealthy, overly processed food environment.
- I seek to outsmart my own cognitive biases and wishful thinking re: eating and drinking, and to help my clients do the same, so we may embrace Truly Healthy Eating.
- Empowerment, Peace, Personal Choice and Responsibility. I seek to educate Slender for Good clients on the eating principles that reliably produce results, as well as the practices that support success with habit change.
- I seek to empower clients to make good eating and drinking choices and support clients to gain clarity, peace, and a healthy relationship with eating and drinking and their body.
- Years of observation, study, and personal experience have persuaded me that abstinence from drinking alcohol is one key to achieving healthy eating habits and sustainable weight loss, so I personally quit “trying to moderate,” and instead abstain from alcohol altogether.
- I honor each individual’s choices about eating, drinking, and their desired weight, and respect their journey as their own. We are all trying to achieve our best lives, and strive to treat ourselves and each other with grace and compassion, keeping in mind that life-changing results take time and intention.
- I seek to co-create a loving, supportive community in Slender for Good to make it possible for each of us to take risks as we learn and grow and try new things.
